Water Mist Systems
Water Mist Systems
At Hiller, our mission is to minimize your downtime while protecting your assets. In order to provide the most efficient and safe fire protection on the water, Hiller provides state-of-the-art water mist protection technology. Approved for marine use, Hiller Water Mist, a Securiplex technology, uses a fraction of the water used by conventional sprinklers and is well suited for the protection of a wide range of marine hazards. Reduced post-discharge damage and clean up as well as simple recharge provide for less downtime, while clean and green technology poses no risk to your crew and assets. Hiller Water Mist is cost effective and provides the most protection of your personnel, equipment and productivity.
Securiplex is Now Hiller Water Mist
Using technology developed by Securiplex, Hiller Water Mist specializes in the manufacture of water mist systems as fire protection solutions. To date, our systems have been in high profile installations such as the New York subway system, the British/Franco Euro or Channel tunnel, the navies of the USA, Canada, United Kingdom and more.
As pioneers of the fire suppression industry, we are at the forefront of innovation and development. Hiller Water Mist, formerly Securiplex, helped to establish North American industrial water fog/mist technology by working with FM to develop the appropriate test protocols and – in 1995 – received the first FM-approval ever issued for a water mist / fog fire protection system. Our state-of-the-art systems provide the performance, efficiency and reliability needed to ensure that your people, equipment and operations remain safe and productive. Government testing has proven that our systems surpass all other major manufacturers in extinguishment times. Water Mist Systems have a variety of applications and benefits as seen below.

Water Mist System Expertise
We have many years of experience and expertise in designing Water Mist Systems. Our team of engineers and specialists will work with you to design the most cost-efficient solution without compromising protection of your personnel, equipment or property.
How does Hiller Water Mist suppression work?
Typically, you have a control panel that takes its orders from a HAD (heat actuated device), even a cross zoned smoke detector or another panel. There are even options for manual pull stations. Once these devices are actuated the water mist skid will come on sending water to the designed requested space or even a total flood of the area(s) under protection. This can be configured to the application’s needs.
As with any fire, there are three things present: Oxygen, Fuel, Heat. Remove one of these and you have no fire. Like most suppression systems, they are designed to tackle one if not more of the aforementioned. Water mist is no exception, but it does have the advantage of extinguishing the fire by means of #1 water which is environmentally friendly, and #2 keeping the area cool to prevent reflash. As it pertains to safety, water mist is a very effective way of preserving human life while extinguishing the fire at the same time. Lastly, minimal to no damage to the equipment, water mist is protecting. Learn more.
